about the Clerk of Courts

What does the Clerk of Courts DO?
The Clerk of Courts manages all paperwork for all criminal cases in the Chester County Court of Common Pleas, in addition to performing other administrative duties. The office handles approximately 5,000–6,000 criminal cases each year.
What does this mean for YOU?
In the event you, or someone you know, is arrested, you don’t only have to go to court, you have to go through the court system. You want the process to be smooth, quick, and as painless as possible. You want to be treated fairly by the system.
You want your court date scheduled properly, paperwork processed quickly and correctly, and after court, any bail monies returned to you as soon as possible. Those would be some of the interactions you would have with the Clerk of Courts office.
Why should you vote for Caroline?
The Clerk of Court's office plays a critical role in ensuring people’s rights to equal protection under the law. The job is very process oriented where both detail and organizational skills are essential, yet requires the ability to create relationships to effect social and criminal justice change.
With 15 years in marketing and communications, centered on digital marketing, Caroline knows how to manage a large team, report to multiple decision-makers, and shift from analog to digital processes, with an eye on efficiency.
She plans to leverage her abilities and background to ensure:
everyone is treated fairly and efficiently,
that the current processes are enhanced, and
where necessary, meet the needs of relevant parties with the help of the team she leads.
Caroline will continue the great strides Yolanda van de Krol, the current clerk, has made in modernizing the office’s processes, while implementing further improvements.
“I’ll ensure Chester County taxpayer dollars are being spent wisely and the administration of justice is efficient and accurate.”
